For nearly 50 years, the Tacoma Women’s Sailing Association has created space for women to learn, sail, lead, and connect through shared experiences on the water.
Founded in 1976, TWSA began as a way to expand opportunities for women in sailing — building confidence, skills, and community in a welcoming environment. Today, that legacy continues through sailing education, mentorship, member events, cruises, and on-and-off-the-water experiences throughout the South Sound.
As an inclusive, volunteer-led association, TWSA welcomes women of all backgrounds and experience levels — from first-time sailors to seasoned skippers — with a shared love of sailing, learning, and the Salish Sea.
Why Sail with TWSA
TWSA exists to help women build skills, confidence, leadership, and connection — on and off the water.
